How ratings work here

Every rating on this site is a pool of customer reviews rather than a verdict of ours, and this page is the method: what we show, what we refuse to show, and why the same figure appears on every set size of one tool.

One design, one pool

Buyer reviews pool across every variation of a design: a cutter sold as a three-piece and a five-piece shares one count and one average. A design sold in four set sizes would show its rating four times over if we repeated it per product. Technically true, practically inflation. We attach the figure to the design and print it once, with the pool size beside it.

What we refuse to show

No stars of our own: we have not cooked with every tool and will not pretend otherwise. No cherry-picked review quotes: a quote chosen by the site that earns on the click is marketing wearing an apron. No "editor's choice" badges: the catalogue is the full kitchen range, including the tools that are unavailable this week and the ones with a dozen reviews.

Reading a pooled rating

Two things make a pooled figure sturdier: size and spread. A 4.5 from twelve thousand reviews across years says more than a 4.9 from nine. Treat the number as the design's track record, then read the newest reviews for the set size you want before you order.
